Allow us to introduce the TESCO Meter Farm, our newest offering to support your AMI Meter Deployment. The Meter Farm powers up banks of meters and runs a current load through each meter. TESCO Meter Farms are designed to serve as a cost effective method for testing communication, functionality and firmware upgrades from your meter manufacturer(s). The Meter Farm can be used as part of the qualification process prior to deployment, but has been more popular as a post deployment tool to allow large scale testing of all new releases of firmware over hundreds or even thousands of meter points prior to upgrading the entire system. The Meter Farm can also be used to perform long term testing for new hardware releases prior to introducing later generation meters into the field. As with all of our products, the TESCO Meter Farm is built with the tradition of reliability and ruggedness.

This readily portable Knopp Loading Transformer weighs only 60 pounds and measures 12″ long, 9″ wide, and 10″ high. Its sturdy enclosure provides protection and adequate ventilation. Two convenient carrying handles are provided. The insulating terminal panel is rigidly secured to the transformer frame, and heavy-current, bus-bar-type terminals are securely bolted to the panel. The two outpout terminals each have two connection surfaces, one on a vertical plane and one on a horizontal plane, for maximum convenience in connecting the heavy current leads and in changing, when necessary, the series-parallel links. Service Ground Test Set

TESCO’s Service Ground Test Set has been designed to check the condition of the ground connection on a secondary service. If for any reason the ground connection has a resistance, this can be immediately detected by the Test Set. The Service Ground Test Set consists of a voltmeter which can be shunted by a resistance of 60 ohms. The voltmeter is of the suppressed zero type with a double range, from 65 to 130 or from 130 to 260, and can be used for checking service voltage independently of the ground test.

The Tester can help determine if there are installations errors, loose connections, incorrect ratios, resistance buildup, open CT’s, or manufacturers defects. The CT Ratio/Burden Tester measures and displays the primary and secondary current of the CT under test, and the ratio of the currents. All test data is stored in the internal memory and easily uploaded to a PC.

This was developed to provide temporary protection of the test switch and to address the rising concern that the terminals of the test switch are exposed while you’re working in the box. The switch protector can prevent incidental contact with live terminals or contact with tools. TESCO’s Test Switch Protectors are constructed of clear, flexible PVC with a voltage rating of 2500V. The switch protector will fit any brand of test switch, regardless of manufacturer, from 4 to 7-pole. TESCO can also develop custom designs of this product to meet unusual test switch configurations.
