SUNTEST Family
-
Atlas Material Testing Solutions
SUNTEST instruments are compact material test chambers for accelerated lightfastness and weathering testing based on filtered xenon lamp technology. All SUNTEST chambers offer a horizontal test plane which is particularly useful for testing 3-D specimens. Lightfastness testing aims at testing a material under solar radiation and temperature only – Weathering testing adds water and moisture to the test.

220/220+
-
Atlas Material Testing Solutions
The Xenotest 220 and Xenotest 220+ are large capacity lightfastness testers dedicated for textile testing. They come with premium on-rack light and temperature sensor and non-aging optical filter technology. With the ability to test 38 samples, the 220 Series provides nearly twice as much capacity in the same footprint compared to 150S+. The combination of its large test chamber and the efficient use of power and water make it today‘s most economic air-cooled instrument available. It complies to standards ISO 105 B02, AATCC TM16 (option 3), and Marks & Spencer C9, C9A.

MHG Solar Simulation
-
Atlas Material Testing Solutions
Filtered MHG lighting is a mature technology used since the 80’s for larger solar simulators inside environmental test chambers. MHG lamps are filled with a mixture of mercury, halides and rare earth elements which vaporize during ignition, generating a plasma. After a few minutes, the plasma reaches thermal equilibrium and emits a quasi-continuous spectrum (when properly filtered) similar to global solar radiation.

Evaluation Services
-
Atlas Material Testing Solutions
Atlas offers a wide range of evaluation and measurement services for our client's specimens during and after the weathering process. These services are available at Atlas' Miami, Florida and Phoenix, Arizona sites. Atlas uses the most advanced instrumentation from leading manufacturers for measuring appearance properties such as color change, gloss, distinctness-of-image, transmittance and reflectance. All of our services meet the latest measurement test standards from organizations such as ASTM, ISO, DIN and others. A full range of visual assessment services is also available, including coating adhesion, blistering, chalking, cracking, mildew growth, and gray scale evaluation in accordance with respective standards' organizations. Temperature monitoring programs are provided for single and multiple specimens under any type of exposure, as well as for large assemblies such as complete vehicles. Strict quality control guidelines have enabled Atlas' Evaluations Laboratory to achieve industry-accepted accreditation from world renowned standards' organizations. Atlas is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) and accredited or approved by Ford, GM and AMECA.

HMI High-Speed Lighting
-
Atlas Material Testing Solutions
The automotive industry uses various types of crash testing every day to evaluate and improve automotive safety. The application of high-speed photography utilizing two- or three-dimensional test analysis is the current tool of choice. While high-speed cameras have become more sophisticated, they cannot solve all problems facing the photographer. Along with camera optics, light is the most critical element in achieving the best pictures, using the desired frame rate and depth of focus.

Natural Weathering Testing Sites
-
Atlas Material Testing Solutions
It is not practical to determine the weathering characteristics of materials in all of the world's climates. Therefore, benchmark climates selected for exposure testing are based on their known severity for the weathering of materials and the anticipated market of the product. The major marketing area of the material should be taken into consideration when selecting suitable climates and sites for weathering tests. Each class of materials is sensitive to a specific group of environmental parameters. Humidity, rain, and salt spray can cause corrosion of metals. For plastics and coatings, ultraviolet radiation, temperature, and moisture can initiate material degradation.

Fluorescent / Accelerated UV Testing
UVTest
-
Atlas Material Testing Solutions
Fluorescent UV lamps, similar in mechanical and electrical characteristics to those used for residential and commercial lighting, have been developed with specific spectral distributions. These sources are incorporated into fluorescent UV condensation devices such as the Atlas UVTest. These devices may be used in tests that vary light/dark cycles, temperature, condensing humidity, water sprays, and irradiance control.
