NI provides contouring capability for more complex moves. The onboard CPU uses an embedded real-time OS that has event-driven multitasking control. With this approach, several motion control programs and processes can operate simultaneously on the controller independently of the host PC and with no outside program interaction unless the host program or user configuration initiates it.
