The HMC994APM 5E is a GaAs pHEMT MMIC Distributed Wideband Power Amplifier which operates between DC and 28 GHz. The amplifier provides 15 dB of gain, +29 dBm of saturated output power, and 25% PAE from a +10V supply. With up to +38 dBm Output IP 3 the HMC994APM 5E is ideal for high linearity applications in military and space as well as test equipment where high order modulations are used. The HMC994APM 5E exhibits a positive gain slope from 2 to 20 GHz making it ideal for EW , ECM, and test equipment applications. The HMC994APM5E amplifier I/Os are internally matched to 50 Ohms and is packaged in a leadless QFN 5x5 mm surface mount package.

Teledyne RF & Micrrowave designed the Five Channel Amplifier specifically for a custom space application. Each independent channel used dedicated RF Input/Output and DC bias connections. Each channel's RF performance was tailored differently to meet the application requirements. All components were manufactured and screened per MIL-PRF-38534, Class K. Additionally, to meet mission requirements The top assembly was also tested for RF and DC parameters during MIL-STD-202 thermal cycling and random vibration environments. This effort required disciplined development, manufacturing and program management efforts to meet challenging mechanical and RF engineering requirements.

The standard NET Series design uses rugged stainless steel connector bodies with a naval bronze engaging nut. The use of metal key and Acme threads on the mating interface allows for easy mating and un-mating of the connectors, no matter where they are located. In addition to the contact spacing, which is optimized for this application, one of the keys to achieving the 1 Gbit/s transmission rates is in the unique terminations for both the cable and bulkhead connectors.
