Dexter's sensitive yet rugged fire detectors, or fire sensors, serve as the foundation of US combat fire suppression systems on combat aircraft and ground vehicles ranging from the HUMVEE to the Abraham's Tank. Our fire sensors consume low energy, making them the premier safety component on battery-powered as well as hot-wired systems. We like to call them "the eye that never sleeps." How fast are they? Fast enough to race the fire caused by a rocket hitting a fuel tank and win, triggering fire suppression on the spot to help protect soldier and pilot alike. Rugged missions require rugged equipment. Intensive MIL-STD-883H testing performed by Trialon Corporation, an independent testing facility, confirm that Dexter Research's silicon-based temperature sensor detectors meet the same rugged requirements of 1,000G's for mechanical shock and 30G's in random vibration for which our thin-film detectors are famous. All channels provide for voltage division ahead of transient suppression before going into the S&H ICs. Channels that are sampled and held use a common sample and hold pulse that samples while high and holds while low. Jumpers on each S&H chip allow buffering of analog signals where sample and holds are not required. An advantage to the buffers is that it provides a high input impedance for high impedance voltage dividers.

Service Ground Test Set

TESCO’s Service Ground Test Set has been designed to check the condition of the ground connection on a secondary service. If for any reason the ground connection has a resistance, this can be immediately detected by the Test Set. The Service Ground Test Set consists of a voltmeter which can be shunted by a resistance of 60 ohms. The voltmeter is of the suppressed zero type with a double range, from 65 to 130 or from 130 to 260, and can be used for checking service voltage independently of the ground test.
