The rugged yet compact design is available with two different yoke designs. The classic symmetric yoke delivers peak torque at both ends of stroke. Alternatively, they can be supplied with canted torque arms designed to deliver peak torque at only one end of stroke. Use of canted arms can often reduce actuator size, weight and cost for valves with appropriate torque demand characteristics.

Fluid Level Sensor

The output of the fluid level sensor is a voltage which changes in direct proportion to the level of fluid in the probe. The difference in permittivity between air and the fluid being measured changes the capacitance between the probe's two concentric tubes as the level changes. An RS232 connection to a PC allows the user to calibrate the fluid level and thermal drift compensation. The probe is factory replaceable, allowing the electronics to be re-used should the probe become damaged or if a new probe length is required.

Positive Displacement (PD) flow meters are volumetric flow measurement instruments ideal for low flow rates, highly viscous fluids, and measurement of flows involving starts and stops or pulsing. Positive displacement flow meters are similar in design to the gear pump. The principle of operation is reversed however; instead of the gears driving the fluid, the fluid drives the gears. A non-intrusive hall-effect sensor detects the movement of the gear and as each gear tooth passes the sensor, a square wave pulse is produced and a discrete volume of liquid is measured. The resulting pulse train is proportional to the actual flow rate and provides a highly accurate representation of the fluid flow.
