The Model T265 is the only commercially available US EPA Federal Reference Method for Ambient Ozone Monitoring according to the latest US EPA regulatory rules for O3. The instrument uses Chemilumescence with Nitric Oxide (NO) as a reagent, making is safe, stable, and effective for all applications. The NO-CL method for Ozone has several advantages over the conventional UV absorption technology, including the avoidance of positive and commonly found interferrents such as VOCs, fine particulates, Mercury, turpines, ClO2, and others. If these pollutants are present in the atmosphere, it can cause UV absorption analyzers to give an artificially high Ozone measurement. Thermal sensors have a series of bimetallic junctions called a thermopile. Radial or axial heat flow through the sensor creates a voltage proportional to the power absorbed as it flows through the thermopile. The reading is not dependent on the ambient temperature since only the temperature difference is measured and not the absolute temperature. The thermopile elements are so arranged that the reading is almost independent of beam size and position. Generally, Ophir specifies ±2% or better uniformity of reading over the surface.

TRT Advanced series is the newest DV Power solution for transformer turns ratio measurement. Besides its main application, each turns ratio tester from this series also measures transformer excitation current and phase shift. Furthermore, all models perform automatic vector group detection and magnetic balance on three-phase transformers and three-phase autotransformers. They have a built-in true three-phase power source. For that reason, they can test transformers with special configurations, such as phase-shifting, rectifier, arc-furnace, traction transformers, etc.The instruments can output test voltages from 1 V AC to 500 V AC, depending on the model. With the highest test voltage 500 V AC, TRT500 provides the most accurate turns ratio testing of power transformers used in power generation and transmission. The output test voltage of TRT500 can be boosted to 5 kV AC using the external CVT20 extension transformer. This application is specially designed for testing turns ratio of capacitive voltage transformers. The other three models, TRT400, TRT250, and TRT100 can output up to 400 V, 250 V, and 170 V respectively. The low test voltage of 1 V AC enables turns ratio verification of current transformers.TRT500 is equipped with a large 10.1” graphical touch screen display. Other models, (TRT400, TRT250, TRT100) have 7” graphical touch screen display. Besides making the interface much more user-friendly compared to older turns ratio testers, it also brings certain options that were previously available only with DV-Win software. The most important are test templates and automatic test mode. Users can simply create test templates, store them in the instrument’s memory, and load when in the field with just a few clicks.This turns ratio test set, as well as all other DV Power turns ratio testers, has a built-in tap changer control unit. It enables remote control of an on-load tap changer (OLTC) directly from the instrument. In order to make the most out of this feature, the instrument can be programmed to do everything automatically – running turns ratio tests, changing OLTC tap positions, and saving results. This option, especially in combination with test templates, significantly facilitates and shortens the turns ratio testing time. Automatic test mode minimizes human errors, which makes the measurement more reliable.

The A2K absolute encoder is a non-contacting optical rotary position sensor which reports the shaft angle within a 360 deg. range. As opposed to incremental encoders, the A2K reports the absolute position rather than the change in position. When powered up, it does not require a home cycle, even if the shaft was rotated while the power was off. In multi-turn mode, it tracks the position in a 32-bit counter as long as the power supply is maintained. Internally, an infrared LED flashes through a circular bar code onto a linear array sensor. The microcontroller decodes the image into a unique position. All user programmable parameters such as resolution, origin, direction and mode are permanently stored in an internal EEPROM

Autopilot Directional Gyroscopes

The 4000C/D is an air-driven directional gyro with A.C. autopilot pickoffs. Left turns produce clockwise dial rotation and right turns produce counter-clockwise rotation. Two knobs control the gyro. The left knob is used to cage the unit, and the right knob is used to select the instrument’s heading. To change course, the right selector knob is pressed and turned to disengage the dial shaft and set the pointer to a new heading. Releasing the selector knob re-engages the pointer with the dial shaft. As the aircraft turns onto a new course, the pointer returns to its original position. The on-course position of the pointer is always at the top of the azimuth circle (0° on the dial with the aircraft headed north).

The Type NVF-2 series of handheld directional antennas are used to locate interfering signals or noise in either the 420 – 470 MHz (Type NVF-2A) or the 900 MHz ISM band or cellular telephone bands (Type NVF-2B). Both models incorporate a solid reflector positioned behind a resonated half wave driven element, both elements being mounted on a fiberglass rod with an integral pistol grip. The configuration of the reflector and driven element are such that a deep null in the signal being received will occur when the antenna is pointed in the direction of the signal being radiated. A T-pad resistive attenuator is also incorporated in the antenna mounting enclosure to aid in the direction finding process on very strong signals or when excessive reflections present multiple returns.
