The PCI‑GPIB is a plug‑and‑play IEEE 488 interface for PCs and workstations with PCI expansion slots. The PCI‑GPIB can sustain data transfer rates of more than 1.5 MB/s using the IEEE 488.1 three‑wire interlocked handshake. It also implements the high-speed IEEE 488.1 noninterlocked handshake (HS488) for benchmarked data transfers at more than 7.7 MB/s. The onboard bus master DMA controller means that there are no microprocessor interruptions in data transfer.

The 7406e low profile PCI Express serial interface provides four RS-232 serial ports. For maximum compatibility with a wide range of peripherals, the board supports all standard RS-232 modem control signals. The serial ports utilize a 16C954 UART with 128-byte Tx/Rx FIFOs that enables data rates to 921.6K bps for reliable high-speed communications in data intensive applications. This high-performance UART includes 9-bit framing support and is fully software compatible with legacy 16550 applications. In addition, the board derives a 62.5 MHz clock from the PCI Express link. This ultra-high speed clock is divided by a flexible 8-bit clock prescalar with 1/8 steps to provide support for the widest range of standard and non-standard baud rates.

SURFACE PROFILE GAGES

Steel is often abrasive blast cleaned or otherwise roughened prior to painting. The peak-to-valley height of the resultant surface profile is an important factor in the performance of applied protective coatings. Low profile may reduce coating bond strength (adhesion). Too high and the peaks may receive insufficient coverage and possibly rust prematurely. The costly application of more coating may be required if the profile is too high. For these reasons, surface profile should be measured prior to coating application to ensure that it meets contract specifications.
